This section contains paintings and drawings completed during my studies at the Art Students League of New York between 1980 and 1983, in the classes of Thomas Fogarty and Daniel E. Greene.
Since students worked from live models at the League, my resulting student paintings were portraits, in contrast to my current subject matter (still life).

Studying at the Art Students League was a very heady experience for someone just out of high school. It is difficult to decribe the atmosphere at the League to anyone who has not at least visited it. I have many fond memories of the three-plus years I spent there, receiving guidance from three great teachers: the two mentioned above, as well as Richard V. Goetz.
